The SMEDAN E-College with the motto, Developing Nigerian Entrepreneurs for Financial Independence is predicated on the philosophy of impacting on the Entrepreneurs the techniques of making more Money and becoming financially independent. To accomplish this objective, an attempt has been made to present our training materials in the most lucid, simple, unambiguous and precise manner and language for easy learning and understanding.
The SMEDAN E-College is an initiative of the Director-General, Muhammad Nadada Umar. The College is to provide an interactive and learning platform for micro, Small and medium entrepreneurs. To expose micro, small and medium business operators to the business of entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurship of business. This is in accordance with the mission of SMEDAN: “To facilitate the access of micro, small, and medium enterprises to all the resources required for their development.” SMEDAN is committed to the goals and objectives of the present Administration and is poised to drive it. Acknowledging that micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are the engine of socio-economic transformation and re-engineering globally. SMEDAN is positioned to stimulate and facilitate the development of MSMEs to establish a strong industrial base through the College.
The SMEDAN E-College is determined to redefine business and inculcate into the entrepreneurs the habit of making more money and financial independence through the effective management of their enterprises. You just have to reduce cost and increase sales. The difference between the Poor and the Rich is just Attitude. The entrepreneur must be the best marketer in his/her business. The marketing efforts must produce increase sales. Marketing needs to fill a customer’s wants, needs and ego. A smart entrepreneur focuses on keeping existing customers happy and looking for new customers to sell existing products/services to. The College would expose and teach you how to design a business that can do something that no other business can do. Hence, launching you on the path of profitability and sustainability.
The Coordinator of the College, Dr. Friday Okpara is passionate about teaching people about entrepreneurship and business management. The College is to redefine education and prepare the entrepreneurs for a better understanding of the real world of business. The kind of education that would teach you how to break through your fears. Education that would help you rediscover your own power within. Education that would propel the body, mind, emotions and soul to get through the programme. Education that would centre on results not reasons, on actions not words. We know the challenges confronting MSMEs in Nigeria, but these challenges can be converted into opportunities. We would teach you the conversion process.
